September October 24th, 2015.

Group met with Dr Shenai at 11.30am to discuss senior design project implementation. We discussed our different ideas with him and he gave us his view on what he wanted the hologram to do. He wanted to use the hologram to help with aid of surgical procedures.

Tuesday September 29th 2015

Two of the group members (Matt and Hamzah) met with Dr. Cebral at 1.15pm. We discussed implementation of the design (Dr Shenai sent us a powerpoint). Dr Cebral recommended using a windows based tablet for the project that way we could build the program in MATLAB rather then having to build an app (for Android/Apple) and working about how the code would transfer over.

Group talked with Dr Shenai about what kind of material to use for the optical device. He recommended that the material for the device must be semi-reflective. However, he suggested that before going into industrial type equipment, that we go to a crafts store and buy a mirror there just to use as an initial prototype.

Friday October 16th, 2015.

Two of the group members met with Dr Shenai about some more ideas for the optical device. He recommended building a base for it which allowed movement in three-dimensions.

Two of the team members (Matt and Hamzah) met with Professor Kinser from the Physics department to help better understand the law of optics, which will come into place for this experiment. He gave us a couple of drawings and even gave us some recommendations on how to do the scaling/mapping of the image from the tablet to the optical device.

Saturday October 24th, 2015

Team has built an initial prototype of the base holder for the optical device. It is two tripods, one that holds the optical device at a 45 degree angle and the other which holds the tablet in place.

Tuesday October 27th, 2015

Team sent email to Dr Shenai asking about when the brain simulation practice is going to occur, it’s going to help with completing the scaling part of the code.

Friday October 30th, 2015

Group had our presentation in front of two facility members, Dr Lawrence Bray and Dr Juan Cebral. After our presentation was over Dr Cebral gave us some much needed feedback on what to improve upon for our final presentation.

November 9st

Dr Shenai made CT Scans of the foam head, that can be used for testing the code. Code was continued to be worked on.

November 21st.

Team made a custom 3D printed clamp that will hatch onto the table as well as having a hole for the tripod to go through. Code was worked on.

December 10th

Code was finished, allows the user to enter the degree they want the cut at, the number of cuts they want and what cut number they want.
